Biographical Data and Professional Experience:

Yurii Kats, born in 1974, has studied Architecture in Kyiv (Ukraine) and Darmstadt (Germany). Subsequently he joined several well-known offices in Ukraine and Germany before he became part of Eller + Eller Architekten in Düsseldorf. Yurii Kats gives numerous lectures about such themes as building and sustainability.

Eller + Eller Architekten

Eller + Eller Architekten is an architectural practice with its main office in Duesseldorf and branches in Berlin, Moscow and Kyiv. The firm was founded as Eller Moser Walter in 1964. Since 1997 it operates under the name Eller + Eller Architekten and is run by Erasmus Eller. More than 70 staff members are working in the company’s offices.

Since 1993 the architectural practice has been engaged internationally. The focus of Eller + Eller Architekten work is on projects in Eastern Europe. The firm’s thematic or typological focus is mainly on energy efficiency and sustainability, commercial buildings (office, retail, hotel), governmental buildings, museums and cultural buildings, residential buildings, infrastructural projects, urban planning, interior design.

Among Eller + Eller Architekten projects, completed or currently under construction, are Daimler AG headquarters in Moscow (Russia); headquarters in Moscow; METRO AG headquarters in Moscow, Kyiv and Bucharest (Romania), Haniel & Cie. office in Shanghai (China); and in Germany – State Parliament, Duesseldorf; Federal Ministry of Justice, Berlin; Niketown, Berlin; Flick Gocke Schaumburg headquarters, Bonn; German Historical Museum (with I.M. Pei, New York), Berlin; and many others.

Eller + Eller Architekten is awarded with numerous national and international architectural prizes.

Eller + Eller Architekten is member of the DGNB German Association for Sustainability and founding member of the Russian Sustainable Architecture Building Council.
